The Boys and Girls Club of Greater Oxnard and Port Hueneme has partnered with Fairwind Yacht Club to create a FREE Sailing Program for our members. This is a great experience for ALL youth! Youth will learn about boat safety, wind currents, how to sail, and so much more!

Various sessions available. Every youth will be tested on their swimming abilities.

PARTICIPANTS must be between 9—18 years old.

The Seabridge Community Youth Sailing Program is a unique program developed by Fairwind Yacht Club (FYC), the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Oxnard and Port Hueneme, and D.R. Horton.

The objective of the program is to teach basic sailing skills to youth in the local community. Those enrolled in the program are members of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Oxnard and Port Hueneme, and there are typically three courses offered per year - spring, summer, and fall.

The program utilizes four Capri 14.2 sailboats provided by FYC. There are typically two students per Capri sailboat, with a minimum of one instructor per Capri 14 sailboat at the start of the program as well as staff on a Safety Boat.

The sailing instructors are volunteers from FYC and there are FYC personnel on-site at all times. This program is made possible with the support of DR Horton and Seabridge Marina.

Pacific Corinthian Youth Foundation (PCYF)

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Oxnard & Port Hueneme is proud to partner with Pacific Corinthian Youth Foundation (PCYF) to offer a FREE Sailing Summer Camp exclusively for BGCOP members.

While this camp is typically a paid program, scholarships provided through our partnership with PCYF cover the full cost for eligible BGCOP members, making this incredible opportunity available at no cost to participating youth.

Open to members ages 9–18, the program is designed to build sailing skills, seamanship, racing techniques, and, most importantly, water safety—all while creating confidence, teamwork, and unforgettable experiences on the water.
