Mariana Cazares was born in Sonora Mexico and raised in Oxnard California.  After graduating from Rio Mesa High School she attended San Diego State University. Mariana received her Bachelors of Science in Criminal Justice Administration and a minor in Spanish. After graduating Mariana began working at Haycox Elementary as a program aide with the Boys and Girls Clubs.  After working there for nearly a year she now works with high school students through the Youth Empowerment Program.  Mariana enjoys working for the Boys and Girls Clubs because she feels these programs offered help at risk youth accomplish their dreams. In her free time one of her passions is studying martial arts. Mariana studied both (Korean and Japanese) marial arts; Tang Soo Do and Karate.  She also really enjoys listening to music, watching movies, drawing portraits, spending time with family and friends. “Hold fast to dreams, for if dreams die, life is a broken winged bird that cannot fly.”Langston Hughes
