Jaime Zendejas
Director of Operations
E-Mail

Born in Brawley and raised in Calipatria, California with his five siblings, Jaime Zendejas made his way to the Oxnard plain in the early 1990s.  After attending Imperial Valley College, Jaime felt it his duty to serve his country by joining the US Coast Guard.  He served for five years as a Boarding Officer, primarily in the Caribbean, while studying engineering and law enforcement before he reached the Oxnard Shores.  In 1989 he was stationed at the Channel Islands Harbor U.S. Coast Guard Station, where he served his final year and a half of service.  Once discharged, Jaime was set to join the LAPD academy when a sudden hiring freeze was implemented by the City of Los Angeles.

With his continued desire to serve the community, Jaime soon took a position with the City of Ventura, charged with opening a new recreation center in Cabrillo Village, Saticoy.  Upon project completion, and armed with a passion for working with at-risk youth, he began his service with the Boys & Girls Club of Oxnard in 1992, focusing on social recreation for local youth.  In 1995 he took the opportunity to join the Boys & Girls Club of Port Hueneme as the Program Director until the two Clubs merged in 1997.

Two years later, Jaime became the Director of Operations, where his duties have since multiplied while overseeing the two Clubs, the Seventh Street site set to re-open in June 2007, and is responsible for Human Resources, in addition to Special Projects and Facilities.  Jaime now lives in Oxnard with his lovely wife Maria, and his three beautiful children, Alyson, Celeste and James.
