Julie Smedley grew up in Ventura County and graduated with her B.A. in Sociology and B.S. in Criminal Justice from California Lutheran University in 2008. She first joined the Boys and Girls Club in August 2008 as the Rio del Valle after school program coordinator. She currently works for the Youth Empowerment Program as an Academic and Career Advisor for out of school youth.

Julie enjoys working with the youth in our community, as it is her passion to give our youth the resources needed to be caring and successful citizens and adults. She hopes her work inspires others to become positive activists for our youth in our community that need us the most. In her spare time she loves spending time with her family, loved ones and rooting on the Lakers!
